The Bobby Deitch Band (BDB) plays uplifting original Soul music that takes its cues from Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Billy Joel & Michael Jackson. This 7 piece powerhouse from Nyack, NY takes these beautifully crafted songs and explores new ground at each show.
Following an illustrious career as a musician, educator and songwriter, Bobby formed the BDB in 2016. The band released its debut album, "Grateful" at the Blue Note, NYC in the Spring 2017.
Joining Bobby and the band on the "Grateful" album are Lettuce members Adam Deitch, Nigel Hall & Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff, 2018 Lifetime Achievement Grammy winner George Porter jr (Meters), Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno, pianist Jon Cleary (Bonnie Raitt) and Nth Power/Beyonce drummer Nikki Glaspie. The album has recently been featured on national radio SiriusXM/Jam On, NY radio WFUV FM, WHUD FM, WFDU FM and Tri-Lakes Radio Colorado.

For three days in May - the 12th -14th (12PM -6PM), The Nyack Park Conservancy, together with the Village of Nyack, is going to be hosting a Pop-up Adventure Playground! Adventure playgrounds focus on child directed play, which is the play that evolves when children choose what to play and make up their own rules about how they’ll play.
The playground itself is an area devoid of screens, monitors, computer keyboards, mouses or joysticks - it’s an outside area filled with...well, filled with random stuff! Cardboard boxes, lengths of plastic piping, tubes, tires, containers, ropes - a veritable cornucopia of random objects, there to imagine with and build whatever the kids can dream up!
The idea is simply to get kids playing outside with other kids, in an environment that flexes their creative muscles.
We’re tremendously psyched about it, but we’ll need your help to make it happen. We’ll need your tubes, your containers, your boxes - your leftover pvc pipes, pex tubing - your old bicycle parts, bins, cable spools, sheets, towels - seriously, just about anything that’s clean, non-toxic and doesn’t have sharp edges is probably something that we can use!
Please let us know if you have any items you’d like to donate to the Nyack Adventure Playground!
Plant a new garden at the playground, fill planters with spring flowers and give the children’s water play area a facelift with some new paint and planter boxes. (Simply come down with work clothes/gloves).
Coffee and light refreshments for volunteers. Got a high school or middle school student who needs volunteer hours? These are great opportunities to earn hours and have an instant impact in making our world cleaner, greener, healthier & more beautiful.
Volunteer hours forms will be available to students needing them. Please let us know at the check-in table!
